Multi-talented Miley Cyrus has captivated kids and families on Disney Channel’s global smash Emmy-nominated hit comedy series “Hannah Montana” in which she stars as Miley Stewart, a typical high school student looking to fit in with the popular group on campus. Cyrus also stars as Miley Stewart’s alter-ego Hannah Montana, an international pop singing sensation. Born November 23, 1992, in Nashville, Tennessee, Cyrus developed a love for the stage after watching her dad, singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus, perform. After appearing as an extra in his television projects, Cyrus got her first chance to act opposite him in a recurring role on the television series “Doc.” She has also guest-starred on “Love Boat: The Next Wave” and appeared in the Tim Burton film “Big Fish.” Now, Miley Cyrus spans The Walt Disney Company with projects in TV, music, consumer products and movies. In 2006, the triple Platinum “Hannah Montana” soundtrack became the first ever TV soundtrack to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and Cyrus became the youngest artist to have two #1 hits in less than a year. In 2007, she improved that record with a two-disc set that reached the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 and has earned double-Platinum status. In 2008, she released a solo album, “Breakout” on Hollywood Records, which debuted at #1 making Miley Cyrus the youngest ever recording artist with three #1 albums in less than two years. Cyrus co-wrote 8 of the songs on the album. Her third solo album will release in June 2010. She completed a sold out 70 date concert tour in February 2008, and in 2009, she embarked on her first worldwide tour spanning North America and Europe. She starred in Walt Disney Pictures’ smash hit 3-D theatrical release “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert” which set new box office records, as well as the blockbuster “Hannah Montana: The Movie” feature film. In March 2010, Walt Disney Pictures released “The Last Song,” a starring vehicle for Miley, based on the novel by the same name from international-bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks. Miley Cyrus also shared her inspiring story, spanning from her Southern roots in Tennessee to the excitement of her record-setting triumphs in TV, music and film, in her book “Miles to Go” published by Disney Book Group.
